Kalamazoo County RACES
What is Kalamazoo County RACES?
R.A.C.E.S. is an acronym for Radio Amateur Civil Emergency
Service.
The Kalamazoo County RACES program is administered by the Kalamazoo
County Sheriff's, Office Of Emergency Management (OEM).
This office is headed by
Captain
Paul Baker, Director of OEM. The RACES Emergency Coordinator
and Radio Officer is Art Snapper,
NK8X.
Kalamazoo County RACES follows
the mission statement of its primary served agency the Kalamazoo County
Sherriff's Office of Emergency Management (OEM) which is-
"The Mitigation of, Preparedness for,
Response to and Recovery from Natural and Human-Made Disasters within
the county of Kalamazoo and providing regional support to the 5th District."
